If the rear is knocking....

I get a light vibrato type knock over light bumps. Almost a rattle but low pitch in sound... Sway bar drop links? The car is going in for alignment on Thursday. I'm not getting any movement in the suspension when I poke and prod, and it does not make noise in the turns or over larger bumps,it's primarily over things light small speed bumps and pavement abnormalities.

I know that diagnosing suspension problems over the internet is sort of a silly request, but thought I'd ask if this is a typical mode of failure...

Thanks!

Sounds like snooker/pool balls? Then probably wishbone balljoint.

Or rear trailing arms. Vertex sells urethane rebuillds for $140ish. Exact symptons of mine at 60K. The front rubber bushings go fast.

I'd say the rear control arms also. The original rubber gets soft and you can hear it when you hit a bump or turn. I just replaced my front control arms Sunday and the original rubber bushing was super soft. The replacement had the urethane bushings that should last forever.

Sounds like drop links. They'll rattle if they're a quarter turn loose.
