My Boxster went in today to Wrightune to have the IMS Guardian fitted - if you have a 24k or later service done then you get free fitting. I needed a major service so decided to do the two together.

The car has done 69k so (I am led to believe) is less at risk from IMS failure - none the less I will be happier knowing that there is some form of warning in case the bearing starts to self destruct.

I just installed it on my 1998 Boxster this week. The car has 104K, I sleep much better at night now! This issue was driving me nuts!

I have had the Ims Guardian installed for two years now. Has anybody with it installed had the alarm go off yet?

IMS Guardian all installed and working. Lets hope it never goes off!

I have exactly the same problem. I may follow your advice with the leds and connect them to the aux output.
