Bose Amp issues!
Hi,
My stereo has gone on the blink. I took it to an auto electrician who confirmed it was the amp that was faulty, he didnt seem to know much more. The amp I have is a 996.645.332.05. I can't seem to find one anywhere and don't fancy going direct to Porsche. Can anybody advise where I'd be able to pick an amp up from, whether I can buy a compatible amp? Is this a common issue amongst boxsters? Any help would be massively appreciated Thanks Dan. |
Check the for sale section or buy on eBay. You didn't say what year your car is but that might help people find you a replacement part too.
On my 99, I pulled the amp when I replaced it with something better. I can check the part number when I get home. If it is the same, you can have it for $40 plus shipping as I don't really need it any longer. Got a shelf of parts I need to put up for sale one of these days, but the longer I own it the more parts seem to go on the shelf. :) |
Thanks, appreciated
My boxster is a 2004 2.7. Cheers Dan |
My Bose amp recently died and I picked up a used one through dC Automotive www.dcauto.com They were very helpful, shipped quick, and were significantly cheaper than new.
I also looked into getting my old amp refurbished by Becker Autosound Website They do offer a warranty on the rebuild. I have a 2004 S and the car is currently on its third amp. |
I checked mine. Sorry, but it is a 986.645.301.03 and made by Nokia. Doubt if it would work for you.
