Motive brake bleed/pad change = slightly spongy pedal

I did a complete brake bleed going from clear, standard brake fluid to ATE Super Blue using the Motive power bleeder. Very simple and easy.
I replaced the stock pads with some used Pagid yellows.
Replaced RR pads, then bled, LR pads - then bled, RF pads - then bled, LF pads - then bled.
I even located the clutch bleed nipple and hit that one too.
After completing everything, I have a slightly spongy pedal. Not horrible, but noticeable.
Is it possible that because the used pads were thinner than the stock pads that some air was trapped given the pistons still needed to expand to hit the recently installed pad.
Thanks for the advice.
Mike

It may not matter, but I replace the pads at all 4 corners, pump the pedal to seat the pads on the rotors, THEN do all your bleeding.

Yeah, I'm thinking that may be the better way Stephen.
Thanks.

Not necessary, but whatever floats your boat..................

Did you get the pads thoroughly bedded? I recently changed front rotors and pads but left the fluid alone. I bedded the pads (I thought) one cool evening but they still didn't feel real solid. Apparently I just didn't get them hot enough because they felt strange and unsettled for 1 full track day and the following day they were solid as a rock. Been good ever since.
