test pipe + no check engine light

I can't believe I can't find this, but I know I've read about it on this forum. What do I need to run a test pipe and not get a check engine light?

1) just tie-wrap them up underneath your car. free, works for some.
2) buy two spark-plug anti-fouling adaptors. use these to offset the sensor from the exhaust flow. $10, works for some.
3) buy some o2 sensor foolers (fvd sells them). what, $100 or something, works for some.
4) ROW ecu flash - euro cars don't throw a code if no cats. free if you know someone with a piwis or pst2 tool, otherwise you gotta convince your shop to do it.
4) Custom ecu flash - sets ecu sensor thresholds such that the exhaust doesn't trigger a code. $600 to $1k.

wait...you mean I can just tie wrap the sensors under the car and open to the air and then use plugs on the test pipe? Good enough for me

What year is your car? The the 4 cat systems need nothing but the pipes themselves and an hr or so of wrenching...

Precisely !

complete fail by me. I was thinking catless. you have cats on your headers.

A Cat Bypass should be fairly benign and not throw a CEL.

Most the rear Cats are not monitored, on certain MY cars. Hence the need for the year and model of your Box. Help us, help you.

Since the 2.5 only has one set of cats, if you delete them, it will render the vehicle non OBD II compliant and CELS's will result. The only real way around it, is to re-map the ECU.

Or to be more precise... you need a ROW flash...
