Looking weight and tracking my 0-60s
Do any of you record your 0-60 times with any device? I was looking to open up the Boxster some this weekend and will have a friend accompy me with his car incase anything happens. What besides the spare tire could be taken out to lose some weight on the car fast?

Hey Blinkwatt, are you on a low carb diet? Is your friend? Possibly this can help you cut some weight for faster times!
I guess you can keep the fuel tank low, but this has it's obvious drawbacks. The 987's Sport Chrono feature allows you to record your 0-60 times and store them. |
weight/spare-tire ?
blinkwatt,
"spare-tire" ? what spare-tire are you talking of? Just got a Boxster S '05 and there is no spare-tire included with the car when I bought it. Might be the 99's have one? Any comments, coordinator? |
The spare tire should be in the front trunk! I don't know if this is available in your part of the world, but I would think so.....Give it a look!

No spares on 987's, IIRC...
it's got a fixit can, just like a lot of other small performance cars--RX8.
Bmussatti: Sport Chrono & 0-60 times----is that with the PCM option? I've got the sport chrono with out it and I'm not sure how'd I 'd do a 0-60 time. Please advise |

Not up on the 987's I guess ;) ......Thanks for the correction!! |
I have an 04 986 with a spare. Kinda glad since I've never had much regard for the fix it cans.
Anyone actually have to use it and does it work well enough? My dealer says Porsche won't use run flat tires because of their weight and handling characteristics. |
run flat tyres have too hard of walls and it is not very nice on poor road condition also we all have low profile on top of that, BMW's run flat are so unpleasant
I do not believe in those spray cans either, they usually wreck your tyres |
Miken--I think what he means is use the timing feature on the stalk and mark when you hit 60. It stores some number of readings in the OBC, no?
I know you need the Nav system with SC to adjust power memory functions. It may also give you easier access to stored readings, but isn't the timing feature the same? |
Run flats are junk.
Convenient though! |
