Auto Door Window Up Issue
On my 1997 Boxster when the windows are down, if I momentarily hit the switch for the windows to go up and release them, the drivers side goes up just fine to the top. But the passenger window will stop as soon as I release the switch.
Thinking it was an issue with the switch itself, I swapped the switches with each other and the issue still only happened on the passenger window. That tells me the switches are ok. Any ideas on what could be causing the passenger window to not do the auto up like the drivers window? The windows behave fine otherwise. |
By the way the auto down works on the passenger window, just not the auto up.

I had the same issue on my 99 after changing the battery. The solution was to reset the electronics. Lower the window using the switch and once all the way down hold it for ten seconds. Do the same thing on the up stroke. Repeat for the other window (if needed). See if that helps. If not, I'd disconnect the battery and repeat it to see if that resolves the situation (i.e. just an electronic memory issue) before looking at hardware.

I believe that 97s passenger window is not capable of doing auto up.

Thanks for the tip AKnowles. It worked for me.

Tried various 'programming' sequences with no luck.
Seems odd that they would not put auto up on one side! Crazy Germans! |
