Airbag Light On after Seat Replacement
Hi. My Airbag Light on the dash is on, there's nothing resting on the passenger seat. Everything was fine before I removed and replaced my passenger seat, today, to install a BK fire extinguisher mount. (First track day of the CT season, tomorrow, yay!) The wiring harness went back together easily, didn't get trapped beneath the seat adjustment rails, and allows the motor to adjust the seat-back. I did NOT disconnect the battery during the process. Any brilliant suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I think you'll need a duremetric or PST2/PIWIS to turn off the light. Or a trip to the dealer. I always disconnect the battery before I work on seats or doors to precvent this type of issue. Been there done that too. Happens to a lot of use.

Thank you! I noticed that the Bentley Manual said to disconnect the battery, but I figured that was just boilerplate to protect the careless. Drat!

Update. I took my car to Limerock for a DE event the next day (and stayed ahead of a new 991, thanks to expert instruction from racer/mechanic/restorer Scott McPherson of Automobile Associates) The head tech inspector, Dan Jacobs, owner of the famed Hairy Dog Grrrage, opined that half the cars there, that day, would not be allowed on the track if they disqualified cars for error lights, and passed me. Later, he graciously cleared the error in about 2 minutes with a Durametric cable and a laptop, refusing payment. Thanks to Dan, Scott and AKnowles. For those in the CT area and NOT members of the CVR PCA, come join!
