i think fuel problem

Hi all i recently brought a boxter 2.5 its a 1998 i was driving on the motorway and it kind of broke down as if it ran out of petrol i pulled over reved it a couple of times and pulled away and it was fine then later that day i give it some in second and at high revs it again splutted i changed gear and it was fine, before i brought it , it was parked up in garsge for a couple of years could it b dirt in the fiuel filter many thanks rick

CEL= check engine light (steady or blinking)

Codes= read fault codes off your DME/ECU


You should never have started and run that car with 2 year old fuel in it.

hi there ive just gone out and started it and no lights stayed on just the rear spoiler light is on
