Another remote question.

Hey guys when I bought my car I had to buy two new remotes as one was busted and the other was lost by previous owner. I had them programmed by Porsche dealer and they work fine, that is until the car sits for a week or two. If it sits locked in my garage and I go to unlock with remote nothing happens when I try to unlock it. I open door with key start the car and then remote works fine until the next time car sits a week or two. What the hell is this about? Both remotes same thing....

I believe that's a "feature" to save the battery on less frequently used cars -- the remote function shuts down after a week, and you have to use the blade to open the car. It's not the remotes, it's the central unit in the car. I believe there's something about this in the owner's manual.

From owner’s manual
If the vehicle is not started or unlocked with remote control within five days for MY 03 ( 7 days for my2010), the remote control standby function is switched off (to prevent discharging of the vehicle battery).
1) In this case, unlock the driver’s door with the key at the door locked.
Leave the door closed in order to prevent the alarm system from being triggered.
2) Press button 1 (the alarm button) on the remote control.
The remote control is now activated again
