Another wheel question!

I currently have 18" turbo twists with 225/40 fronts and 265/35 rears. They're stock, so I'm guessing they're 18x8.5 fronts and 18x10 rears? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Okay. Before I get any heat, I'm just gonna say it.
I really like these wheels:

Roderick Wheels

I really like the way they look. I like how they are both sporty and classy at the same time. Best of all? They're cheap!

HOWEVER,
I know that 19x11 will NOT fit on our lil' 986s without extensive modification.
So my final question to you all is:

Where can I find a 5-split spoke wheel that will fit our cars? Preferably polished/chrome/silver.

Crono...Roderick offers the wheels in 8.5 inch also. Check the fitment guide.

I wish to run staggered setup.. I also will get a lot more power, so I'll need the rubber.

Am I correct in guessing the stock wheel size?
What is the most aggressive width a 986 can have?
What offset/width do you recommend to get the wheels completely flush?
The split spoke is kinda important to me :D I also really like the deep concave look

IMO, the widest you should go on the front is 8.5 and 10 on the rear. While others have shoehorned a 10.5 on the rear, I strongly advise against it. An 11 is completely out of the question. As far as a split spoke wheel is concerned, they're out there. However, the ones that I'm familiar with are well outside of price point that you're looking at. Regarding offset, it depends on your suspension set-up and tire sizes. Unless you can find wheels that have the desired offsets, chances are likely that you will have to use spacers in order to achieve an aggressive "look".

I'm willing to pay up to 4k for a complete set.

So you shouldn't go any wider than stock, huh?

I plan to eventually run PSS9s

A budget of 4k will open up numerous possibilities. Again, there's no reason to stray beyond 8.5 for the front and 10 for the rear. If you plan on adding PSS9's, then I strongly recommend calculating offset more carefully. With PSS9's you'll have to take into consideration that the perch and lock ring will present some challenges with regard to clearance. No worries though - JD's here with the exact specs you'll need. First you need to find a wheel.

God damnit you are the MAN JD!

Crono0001 03-15-2013 08:41 AM

I partially retract my statement :P
Aside from the Rennan wheels, most will cost well over 4k. Up to 4k means I shouldn't really be spending more than 4k (need to be saving up for something else)

However, these are some really really purty wheels. Thanks JD!

PS: ... those Rennans are perfect. I absolutely love them.

18" 986 Boxster wheels are 7.5" & 9".

Fikse makes some of the best quality wheels available for specific fitments. I like the FM5 5-spoke design & it is available in a split spoke design. Jim Fikse makes these wheels in the USA & if you call to order you will probably talk to Jim.

Speedline makes a more classic looking 5 spoke with "indented" spokes you may want to look at. They may be your best investment as it more of a timeless design.

Gee, I was surprised to see the prices on most of these wheels also. My apologies, I just assumed that most, if not all, were sub 4k. Well, at least the Rennan wheels were. :)
