Boxster roof woes

my windows come down 1/2 way while driving (usually when I hit a bump) and refuse to go back up till I unlock and relock the top (often not even then)
I hear a lot about the micro switch issues but not with this description
roof operates fine and doors don't have locking issues
I tried shimming the switch and manually pushing the switch with no effect
does this sound like a micro switch problem?
anybody have a part number?

I had the same issue. Be aware there are TWO different micro switches. When it gets compressed by the roof hood latch you will hear a clicking sound.

Compress the switch with your finger and listen for the clicks.

One type clicks ONCE and the other clicks TWICE. Make sure you replace it with the same one you currently have. I had used the wrong one and learned this as the problem was not fixed. I ended up needing the one that clicked twice. So I have a good micro switch that clicks ONCE.

If that's the one need, PM me.
