intermittent Tiptonic Function

Just got a 2001 Boxster with Tipronic. Sometimes for some real unknown to me the tiptronic will not work and stay in one gear. If I stop and restart the engine most times it comes back online. Whats Up?

Fluid level?

ZF makes it

PST2 or PIWIS need to pull diags on TIPs.

Agree with Mike. If that doesn't help, I'd be looking real hard at the TCM (regardless of any transmission fault codes)!

HI , I'm new to this thread but I would suggest changing the transmission oil and internal filter .
It does require a fair bit of work as the filter is located internally within the gearbox !!

Just a suggestion , try and get more advice first before jumping into this :)

Trans fluid and filter change worked for "Wheeler Dealers." :)
