Smells hot!

Like a freshly lit match sometimes. Car always pegs and runs just over 180*.

Anyone else have a similar experience? May carry a small FX until I figure this out!

What, like a sulphur/brimstone smell? Before you got your car, do you remember ever saying something along the lines of "Man I'd sell my soul for a Porsche!" It could be payday....

I also have a smell that comes from air intakes after I shut the motor down. Can't truly describe the smell, more like a rubbery smell. I have inspected the engine with engine running but cannot see where it is coming from.

If I took it to my indy garage it would be like signing a blank check. Coolant temp. is normal so could be the clutch. Clutch smell on a burnout start is somehow a different smell. I have almost quit worrying about it unless something startling happens. I do carry a fire extinguisher! I understand your situation!

Hot exhaust right by the big fat rear tires, combined with Porsche's cosmoline.

+ 1 on that. You should smell it when you put new rubber on the rears. Nothing to worry about and if mine burns I will use my insurance.
