No seat belt chime or light

I know most people want to know how to disable these, but I want to know how to get them to work. My chime doesn't work and the warning light in the dash is never on, even when the ignition key is first turned on. Bad bulb in dash? Faulty sensor at female seat belt end? Fuse? Thanks in advance for any help.

I'll say the belt latch thinks its buckled. Switch stuck closed.

But then wouldn't the dash warning light come on when all the idiot lights test themselves as the key is turned to the ON position?

I'll leave my belt buckled and after dinner go out to the garage and tell you....

Easiest way to answer that I can think of.

If the buckle is latched or buckled up prior to key in ignition, no dash indicator for seat belt on startup. that light is dark while every other light is lit.

Who wudda gussed??
