STILL having whine from rear of car
Ok... posted about this before. I get a metalic whine from the rear of the car. Starts abruptly at around 40 mph. Will increase in pitch very minimally as I speed up. No change with braking, coasting, changing gears, etc... It stops abruptly at about 35 mph when slowing down, whether the car is in gear, I'm braking, or coasting.
Shop has checked out wheels...they say the bearings are fine. At this point I'm baffled. Isn't wind related due to abrupt start and stop of sound. Not brakes, clutch, engine related. Seems like bearings even though they checked out fine. Any thoughts? |
I had the same issue with my 2002 base. Could not get a definitive diagnosis that it was the bearing.
Grew tired of the noise and had the rt rear bearing replaced hoping that would take care of it. Noise gone. |
Mine did that, and eventually turned from a squeak to a scrape. Was a wheel bearing on right rear. Was easy to replace with SiR B90 tool
