Airbag Light caused by removal of deactivation bar

Hi,

I removed my airbag deactivation bar at the weekend from 2004 986 S thinking this was no big deal.

As I relaxed in the satisfaction of an easy job well done, I turned on the ignition only to be greeted by my airbag warning light

If I disconnect the battery for a short while would this reset the car to default settings - i.e. no activation bar fitted and thus get rid of the light?

No, you need either the Durametric software or a PIWIS to do it. You will also need to reprogram the DME to tell it the bar is gone.

Stick the deactivation bar on eBay, should cover the dealer cost.... or even PistonHeads... ;-)
