Injectors?
 

Has anyone done an upgrade to fuel injectors. Increased size to increase power. I talked to some other brand folks and they have done this to improve power. I've never saw any posts on any of the sites done to Boxsters.

Increasing the injector capacity (they are rated in terms of flow volume per unit time) will not necessarily give you any more power by themselves. Your factory injectors are almost never operating at full capacity as the DME acting upon data from the O2 sensors to control the injector pulse width. To see any gains, you would need more intake airflow charge, plus more fuel, and a modified DME program to take advantage of the higher charge.

More fuel only makes more power if you can burn it.. That means you need more air volume to use more fuel volume. Bigger injectors work well on our bigger engines, especially when we go from 3.2 to 3.8 liters.

how about better spark; is this snake oil or wha?:

too spendy for my wallet, but curious.

If your engine is operating properly and the coil packs are in good condition, there is no lack of adequate spark. I won't say that these are snake oil but probably won't improve the power of a properly operating engine.

I like to upgrade injectors once they are 4-5 years old by removing them & having them pressure cleaned & tested to insure they perform as new then reinstall. Usually find at least a couple that are clogged.

it says Packs for $950 did you contact them at all I hope that is for 6.

More spark energy isn't needed until you have more chamber filling, more fuel and a higher compression ratio. We have some of our engines that have been built with 14:1 compression ratios; they need more spark energy.

If you haven't increased engine volume, spending money on high power coils and larger injectors won't do much of anything and can lose performance. Thats like the guy that spent 3300 bucks on a muffler that made him LOSE 27HP at the rear wheels on our dyno back to back.

Bigger is seldom better, the crowd that thinks that it is, are always the easiest to beat.

Ok injectors aren't a good option and higher power coils won't help. You can see where I am with mods and what I've done to get more power out of this 2.7 so far. Every thing has been positive in that department, are there any other trick or tweak I can do to get more HP for one more year in this engine.

I track the car regularly. It's paid for. I looked at newer cars which leaves me tracking a car I owe a lot on, which after seeing a dozen car into fences this year is a big NO. I'm the third owner of the car it had an accident so it has no value except to me.
