windows went down and will not go up

Help! Pulling into work today, my windows went down halfway. They will go down and back to the half way point but not all the way up. Its a 1999 986. Thanks

Sorry, I freaked out. I put the top down and back up and they work again. Its going to rain today so I was a bit worried. What courses it to happen? I don't want it to during a downpour.

prob the sensor in the roof latch, doesnt think roof is latched, test it by unlatching roof and push your finger or screwdriver up into where the "j" hook type part of the latch goes, holding that (sensor) up try rolling your windows up, sometimes top does'nt line up perfect. is there any binding issues? noises or anything? if both doors do the same what stated above should be your culprit

Thanks for the reply GMtech. I think you are right. It did it again so I pushed on the latch and then the windows went up. No binding though. Is there an adjustment to the latch or the sensor? or do I just need to replace the sensor?
