Roof won't raise or lower

Hi all,
The other day I put the roof down, drove for an hour or so and parked up. Couldn't get the light to illuminate on the dash to say it was ready to raise/lower.

This is what I've observed and done so far:
1. Disconnected the roof mechanism and raised it manually.
2. Swapped microswitch in the latch for a brand new one. No difference.
3. If I unlatch/latch the roof and the windows are up, nothing happens. If I unlatch/latch the roof and the windows are down, they rise to the top.
4. Handbrake light DOES come on when handbrake is engaged.
5. I can find no sign of relay clicking or any other sign of life from the system.

If anyone has some thoughts, that would be great. I'm thinking relay next? I have a friend with a 986 who I can visit in December so I might be able to try his relay then.

Ignore this now please. I was stupid

I decided to have another look. Dropped the roof, reconnected all the rods and slides and it works fine again

What was it you did that solved the anomaly?

I lowered the roof manually, tried the button again and heard the motor kick in and the 'roof ready' light came on. So I connected the rods and slides back up and it worked.

The clamshell doesn't seem to fully seat when the roof is folded now (just sits the tiniest bit proud) but it might have been like that before. I'm not sure. At least now I can use the car.

I'm planning to take it to a soft top specialist soon to replace a tension cable thing so I'll see what they say and if they can fine tune that adjustment. It has a receipt for some roof work from shortly before I bought it and I'm not convinced they did the best job.

Depending on the year the micro switch down by the E-brake could be faulty, and mine is a 02 MY
