Weird Sucking Noise
I get a strange, random sucking noise which appears to be coming from the passenger side inlet on my '01 Boxster. It is not related to engine speed, acceleration load, etc. It happens maybe 5 or 6 times during a 30 minute run and lasts about 3 - 5 seconds.
Any ideas? |
OMG... it's all I can do to leave this one alone.. weird sucking noise from the passenger side that only lasts about 5 seconds, eh? My sides are starting to hurt....
Sorry dude (snicker) I don't know what that could be (hehe) I just had to post though (snork) Maybe someone else can help you. (guffaw) oh dear... someone, please help this guy. I have tears steaming down my face.... |
...does she have a sister???

You sure it's not sucking from the oil cap? If so, could be an AOS problem.

Keep in mind that the louvers on the passenger side are an outlet, not an inlet.

It's your air pump. It happens at start up right

It is most likely the engine compartment fan. This fan will start up and stop somewhat randomly to cool the mostly enclosed engine compartment. Air is exhausted through the passenger side vent.
