CEL question

hey - those of you you delete your secondary air injection and cats (ie, race conversions) you get a CEL, but does it affect performance in any way - i.e., does the computer default to a limp mode or anything?

Deleting the secondary cats on the 2.7 and 3.2 boxster has no adverse effects on emissions or OBD II compliance .

sorry if confusing; i meant 'secondary air injection' or 'cats' (both primary and secondary). spec racers do it and i'm told that they just remove or tape over the cel light, so i think the ecu doesn't care. i just want to confirm as i have a window of time to get the work done now, but won't be getting my row flash (which cures this issue) for a while.

My cats are still in place but as I understand it, the secondary o2 sensors only report emissions and don't affect mixture or performance. Same with SAI.

My SpecBox has no cats or secondary air, constantly runs the CEL and seems to run just fine. I do not believe it is an issue.

thank you.
