how do I cover the alarm trigger pnt on new radio
How do I cover/conect the alarm trigger when installing an aftermarket radio. If this isnt done the alarm, beeps when arming and goes off whenever.
I have an Alpine head unit and 2002 Boxster Any help is appreciated, |
There's a wire that isn't really used on your new head unit and it should be grounded to the chassis, duplicating the grounding it recieves when plugged into the old factory head unit.
Mine chirps too when the alarm is set, but I like it so I'm leaving it the way it is. I never could hear the doors lock all the time and the horn beep is helpful to me. Which wire that would be I do not really know. But someone on this forum or Renntech does! Do a search on aftermarket stereo installation and you'll find threads that discuss this very issue and how to aleviate it. |

Pull out the radio and on the left side (drivers side) there is a cable that connects to the chasis of the stock radio which is not removeable. Just unplug that cable and that will slove your problem. There is no need to ground it or anything just unplug it. Let me know if it works out or if u need more detail. |
