Oil in Coolant, but no Coolant in Oil
So my oil cooler let go....filled the cooling system with oil. It was caught quickly and the car was shut down without overheating.
The cooler is changed, all rubber hoses changed, new rads etc etc.... car has been flushed over and over again yet we are still getting significant amounts of oil into the reservoir. When diagnosing the problem originally we checked for head gaskets, cracked heads etc and everything was good. Not sure where the oil could be coming from, any ideas? |
I guess I would check to make sure the new oil cooler isn't leaking if you have conclusively ruled out the heads and head gaskets.

from another thread, pretty much a carbon copy of what you're saying...

And now on further inspection the mechanic feels that I have either a cracked head or headgasket going..... It may be time to bite the bullet and build a 3.6

I would check the new oil cooler. They sometimes leak. It happened to me. Don't let the mechanic scam u with a blown gasket if u dont need it.
