CDR21 to CDR220 Upgrade

Hi guys,
Seriously considering upgrading my old CDR21 to a CDR220 from the US on my '98 Boxster. Any issues, or is this just a straight forward swap that I can do myself? Are the pins at the back the same? I have the Sound Package with door speakers and amp.

I'm hoping it's going to correct my speaker problem (see previous posts) where the left speaker cuts out intermittently, and also that I can attach an ipod directly.

I've also been told that the CDR220 will work in Australia (the only difference being that the CDR22 and CDR220 have different tuning intervals.

Any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated

It is a direct swap. Someone from England on the UK board boxa.net did it because he found a cheap 220 on US ebay. The tuning is different as you have been told.
