Tiptronic Issue with 5th Gear

I've recently read that the problem I have with my boxster 2.5 tiptronic gearbox not shifting into 5th gear may be to do with the tyre wear and/or tyre pressures. Does anybody know if this could be correct. Thanks

I've had the same issue for a long time now and done just about everything to fix it. I would like to know what this could be as well?
