Question: I thought P0410 and P1411 meant implausible signals from the bank 1 and bank 2 oxygen sensors. Once the car starts, doesn't the alternator provide sufficient voltage for the O2 sensors to do their jobs. And if the sensors are doing their jobs, why the CEL? In my car, it was a vacuum leak that triggered the light each time the SAI system was ready to test and the SAI pump turned off.

The 2 codes and their diagnosis are covered here. Even a flow chart, systems visual etc.

Yes, it is usually a leak, mine was but since I started out thinking MAF, I had to go down the how do you detect, diagnose etc trail.

O2 sensor failures are usually quite specific and indicated by other codes.

If the reference voltage is low due to a "poor" battery, it will still throw codes. It takes a while for the alternator to start putting out a higher voltage due to the battery issue with the SAI working for about the first 40 seconds on start-up. IIRC it takes a number of "faults" before it throws a code. If the voltages are low the references will be off.

I also remember other codes for the alarm system being there as well. They are also gone and now the "red clip" works.

Bump for those looking for a battery.

Mine is in storage for the winter and when I checked it last week, it was still at 89% capacity, same as when I put it in. I need to charge it up full when I have more time there (off site, friends storage site). I did disconnect the battery.

Maxx-94r

I have a 2002 Boxter S that I need to replace the battery. I have researched several places and the MAXX-94R continues to come up. However, I cannot seem to find it. Did the model number change or is Wal-Mart no longer carrying this specific model?

Mine came up MAXX H6 for a 2003 S. There is certainly room for a bigger battery, but it works.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Odessy batteries.

They can be drained down to 0 volts and recharged without damage.

A regular lead acid battery would lose a cell and be dead if you did this.

They also pack more cranking amps into a lighter and more compact battery, hence racers like them too.

I have them in Seadoos, boats and planes and they are awesome in every respect.

Next time I loose a car battery it will become an Odessy as well.

Odyssey Battery

Thanks for the information and especially the link. I've been looking for direct links to batteries and can't seem to find them. The problem is the battery for my car is over $300. If I pay that much, I might as well have my dealer install it (because he's actually pretty reasonable). I was hoping to save a little and since so many people have raved about the Eversmart battery and the cost is around $100, I was wanting to go that route, but can't find the 94R that everyone says is the best option for my car.

94R is same as H7

PazzaDonna8 04-14-2014 09:36 AM

Aha! That is exactly the information I was looking for. Thank you!

Lorin,
I plugged the info into the battery finder @ their web site & it came up with a Maxx-H6 and a Maxx-H7.
Evidently they changed the model # or supplier. According to what I could find the Maxx-H7 is a Group 94R battery.
Good Luck

H6, H7, etc. are DIN, i.e. European codes.
