Skos Registered User Join Date: Jul 2012 Location: Fort Collins Posts: 4	Same problem happened to my 2002 Boxster I had the same problem, and my mechanic was able to pull the release cable. It looks like my cable broke at the fastener at the release mechanism. We noticed that the entire mechanism was loose, so maybe that contributed to the wear? It seems like it shouldn't have failed. No other signs of wear or rust.
