Pedros techno power2 kit vs ipd?

I really like pedro and he has been a straight shooter and given good advice since I bought my box. he has his techno power kit that includes an ecu remap? How do you guys think the two compare? The price is roughly the same. I am curious how they compare? The pedro setup isnt as pretty, but the boxster obviously doesnt lend itself to showing the engine bay. This is all about performance.

You pay a lot extra for the fancy schamcy IPD plenum that's all. Pedro's system is more economical, and it accomplishes the same - if not more .

Johnny, I was sort of thinking the same thing. I also want to support the small fry entrepreneur as well. Honestly I wonder about the aluminum ipd being more of a heat sink than the plastic pedro option. Just wondering what others thoughts are about these options. I know there was a thread out there about the larger tb and expected to hear from some of them as well.

Pedro ain't no small fry :)

Short and sweet. Had the pedro thing then switched it out for the IPD kit with bigger TB and complete silicone tube. Night and day.

He's referring to Pedro's new system that incorporates a 76mm tb, along with with a 997 3.8 plenum. Not the original Techno Torque .

Yep, thanks johnny.

not much in the way of responses here? hmmm...let's try this another way.

if you were going to buy a new intake, why would you choose the ipd over the pedro's and vice versa? not necessarily looking for personal experience, just picking ya'lls brains.

I'm inclined to say that Pedro's system is a better choice. Here's why :

1. By the time you're done purchasing all of the parts necessary for the IPD system, you're at $1200+ . And, as I previously mentioned, most of that cost is going toward a fancy plenum.

2. The Pedro's system incorporates a 76mm tb vs. IPD's 74mm, and there's plenty of supporting info to suggest that the use of the larger tb has resulted in greater performance gains. In fact, some have reported further gains by using 78mm tb. Also, Pedro's system saves money (and possibly weight) by simply using a larger oem 997 plenum . Lastly, Pedro will custom tune your vehicle's ecu in order to accommodate the increase in air flow ratios . Whereas, an ecu re-map adds another $800-$1000 to the IPD system .

That's my ditty.

P.S.
I'm not a salesperson for Pedro's Garage, nor have I ever played one on TV.

i'm with you danger. good points and truthfully was my thought as well. not as blingy, but more practical. curious if pedro will bore the 76mm tb...hmmm....

I would like to get the Pedro System, however, I have already had my ECU flashed by Softronics, I don't really want to waste the 850.00 I spent for that, maybe I need the IPD system instead, any thoughts on this?

Softronics should be able to tweak or slightly re-map your program in order to accommodate this upgrade . In the case of my ecu program, FVD/Brombacher was able to make the adjustment for me .
