Nice job .. looks like your finish came out nice .. did you vac bag or just did flood coats ?

I'm doing some overlays too but can't for the life of me get the flood coat to be PERFECTLY glassy. I guess part of when you do it yourself is that you see every single little flaws ..

Just flood coats...and the door panels did come out with some "cellulite". There's a bit more sanding to do.
The amount of sanding/finishing makes me feel like Stradivarius making a violin.

Do you get pin holes in the resin ? I get some in every coat even if I use a heat gun to pop the bubble, some comes out of no where when it dries. So frustrating sometimes ..

Your does look nice in the pix though. Was the door kick panel previously carpet ?

Those doors look awesome! And I like the door sill plates.

The doors were previously carpet. Stripping that was not much fun. For anyone aspiring to loose that bit of carpet, neither heat, acetone, or MEK does anything but make a mess.
For all of the parts I did 3-4 coats of resin. The fist coat is a black resin, applied before the carbon fiber cloth is laid. That sets for about 3 hours, until it is tacky, then the fabric goes on. The first coat of clear I tried to keep light so it would soak in. I used a heat gun to keep it loose and get rid of any bubbles. By the "real" flood coat the cloth was already pretty sealed, so I was able to avoid pin holes.

What tip do you have for getting rid of the carpet then ?

That kick plate looks great .. I think that's my next project !

What seats do you have?

Just finished "rescuing" some Kohkeln (sp?) vents today. If you look close there's orange peel still from the clear coat in a can so I have some wet sanding to do still .. d@mn sanding never ends ..

Sweet!! Looks like a bit of wet sanding in your future, but those will turn out great.
For the carpet, get the piece cold, then peel away. The piece will still have leftover bits. You've got to sand the plastic, and that will get most of it. For the carpet in the crevice, use a pair of small needle nose pliers or medical forceps to pluck out the bits.
The seats are imitation Recaros (check on Ebay)
