Performance Friction Brake Pads
Hard good reviews about it on the UK board and decided to order a front set for my coming track day. Was considering the Pagid RS4-2 but had terrible experience with the dust level.
I got the 97 compound which was recommended for fast road and the occasional track day. Good Points - Much firmer pedal feel - Works from cold - Gentle on the discs (hardly any noticeable wear after my track day) - Better braking than stock pads on track Bad Points - Terrible dust, I would say worse than Pagid RS4-2 - Dust sticks to my wheels which I can't completely get off - Noisy under moderate braking at times when the pads get up to temperature I'm removing them this week to get back to the stock pads. I'll miss the firmer pedal feel of the pads but I rather sacrifice that for my wheels. After just 1 week with a track day thrown in, my front wheels has this 'rough' feel to the surface. Some of the dust can't come off no matter how hard I scrub them with a sponge :( I hate to see my 3 months old Carrera light weights in this condition... wheel cleaning
My wife has used a wet microfibre cloth to clean wheels. (Her car--she works on it all the time and it looks incredible. This technique worked on a friend's bmw 330 coupe after he had tried everything else without luck.)

brake dust
I have heard (have not done it yet) that it is good to coat your wheels with Rejex and it makes it much easier to clean your wheels. Rejex is used by the airplane industry.

Next time try the portefield R4-S. It's a track/street pad that I use on my daily driven BMW track toy. Excellent fade resisitance, very long life and very little dust on the street (on the track there's lots of dust but that's to be expected). Works well on the street and excellent when I'm hot lapping.
