Key Inoperative

Hi, my second key unlocks the car and operates the front and rear hatches but does not start the engine - it turns ok in the barrel.

I changed the battery but still the same.

Is there a diy procedure to programme this or is it a trip to the dealer?

Thanks, Simon

Has that key ever worked?

The key battery controls the remotes, but has nothing to do with starting the car. What enables the start is a small capsule that is unique to each key and is read to assure that it is one of the keys that is programmed for the car. It is possible that the key was never programmed to the car.
