19X11" on Boxster 986 without any mods

the RW5 rim in 19x11 offset 40 fits with a 8mm spacer, but i donīt think, that`s possible with a 295 tyre... however... in this configuration only a 265 or 275 should possible, because the 295 would be scratch outside on fender and perhaps inside on the strut. If you want to get lowering your boxster, keep in mind that each rear fender must be widened for 1" and needs a more negative camber! |
Holy ********************, this recurring question regarding whether or not a 19 X 11 wheel will fit on a 986 boxster has become nothing short of a Seinfeld episode . Once again for the record, there's no way an 11 inch wide wheel will properly fit on a 986 boxster regardless of what the offset is ! . Tell the wheel "pros" at Roderick that they would have a better chance of fitting one up their a** than they would on your vehicle. I'll even provide a dab of Swisswax to ease the passage .
* On second thought, maybe you should get a set after all and make a video of the install ! This will finally put the issue to rest when everyone sees that you had to take a sledgehammer to your fenders in order to make them fit ! |
I have not tried and never will. I for one do not like thhe look of anything that big on our little Boxster.
If you look at the picture from the rear you can see the wheels are outside the fender. So as far as fitting yes they might but ----- how would you drive it any movement/ travel up of the rear wheel would cause contact with the fender. I would not want my last two inches of my tire rubbing my fender at 70mph for any length of time. So if you intend to park car they fit but again to me look bad on car. |

19 x 11 is possible but only with a 265er tire and extensive reworking of fender, bumper, a lot of negative camber and so on. i have 18 x 11 on my own, with very low suspension and it it fits and works perfect in all situations. but it is very tricky, to widening the fenders... a little bit to much and the fender gets totally damaged.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1327849895.jpg
