Check engine light - HELP

Greetings all,
I've been having a problem with the check engine light coming on. Over all I want to narrow the problem down. The check engine light on my Boxster came on last year and I took it to the dealer, the dealer told me that I had 2 old codes, both for o2 sensors. The dealer then told me if it happens again its either a vacuum leak or that I need all new o2 sensors. Well it happened again about 3 months later, so I bought an obd2 reader and read the codes. Then I erased the codes and had no problem until today, it came on, another 3 months later it flagged the o2 sensors, codes:P1124, P1126 and told me Misfire, Emission Related, Signal Implausible Cyl. 1-6, codes: P1316, P1317, P1319 . My question to all, wouldn't o2 sensors flag me right a way and not in 3 month intervals? And if it isn't my o2 sensors, could it be anything else than a vacuum leak?
Help!!!
Thanks,
MC

Generally I think the codes are pretty accurate, but not always. I had the check engine light come on myself and told me to replace my o2 sensors. I did it and the check engine light came back off within about 100 miles of installing then saying the same problem with the new sensors.I had my car Dyno'd and the results came back saying my fuel/air mixture was off. Due to modifications I had performed it was obvious I was going to continue to run into this problem. I had to have my fuel chip modified once again to change the limits of the error codes coming on.

I would think utlimatly to fix your troubles you might consider putting your car on a Dyno to see how it is truly responding. And at that point have a porsche specialist fix whatever problems that might become know during the use of a Dyno. This will give you a much better reading then an Odb2 code reader.
