Another Tire Question
The tire calculator at Custom rims, wheel tire packages for your ride - RIMSnTIRES.com indicates I can put a 265/35 tire on an 8 inch rim. What repercussions or negatives could I run into by doing this? I have a set of 18 x 8 square SSR-GT3 wheels I would like to put some all season tires on for the winter and trying to decide the best size tire for the rear, albeit ones readily available for a decent price. I can't find 245 or 255 35s in all season other than Firestones, which I would rather not have.

For the best match of tires to rims, go to the specific tire you are looking for and check the specs for recommended rim width. Here is one A/S tire and they recommend 9-10.5 wide for a 265/18 tire.
Kumho Ecsta ASX If you get a lot of ice and snow in your area a 225 square setup would probably offer better traction than a 265. |
