Car Broke after visit from body shop

Brought my car in to replace my front bumper and headlight assembly, little did I know how much trouble that would be. After the car was finished I jump in my car and the TC, spoiler and ABS are on. If that wasnt enough the radio, speedometer, odometer and clock is not working. Also for some strange reason they raised the driver side seat (think they removed it and didnt put it back on right), it now rubs up against the top of the roll bar. Does anybody know what could of caused all that to happen. I figure they did something with wiring up there but dont think there is anything up there is there. Im going to look at the fuses today when I get home I hope that is all it is!

Sounds like you have a pretty lame repairman.....Did you have the work done by someone who works on German cars or a Porsche dealership? Sounds like a lot more wrong with the car than before you brought it in! Is the car under warranty? I would definitely let them know asap that they screwed up!

Perhaps they didn't disconnect the battery before replacing the lights? Just a guestimate....

I'm really glad for you. I tend to overly worry about my new-to-me boxster. It's scary not knowing how the car was cared for before i had it. Every thing tends to cost 200-300%more to fix on a porsche v/s most anything else on the road. I've been caught posting before careful examination myself. I really value the input i receive on here, and trust the commulitive judgement very much. Besides that i rarely know where to start looking. I'll bet you sighed a huge breath of relief after that one.

I don't think I'd use that shop again. Sounds like they started ripping out electronics before they disconnected the battery. That could be really bad news for the computer if the wrong things touch and short.

Glad to hear it was just the fuses that were blown. :D
