Question Engine compartment fan problem.

What switches/sensors do I need to check to see why this fan is not coming on?

I pulled the fan out and tested it with a battery and it works fine on its' own. I tested the relay box, specifically the rear box relay slot #8. All of the input circuits read 12V, but the output reads 0-356mV. It starts at 0, runs up to 356, then it drops back to 0 and does it again over and over.

Also, will it hurt anything to jump the circuit so the fan is on all of the time? I'd like to be able to drive it (the fan will be on all the time in the GA heat anyway) while I'm trying to find the root cause of the problem.

Thanks!

Talking

I can't see why running the fan all the time (for a short while) would present an issue, esp in GA.

The fan will only come on when the engine really needs it .......190+ or so.; 180-185 is where the engine likes to stay.
