Transmission Repair! What's the Latest?
Cross Post - Don't know the best place to post this.
OK, I've raced my 2000 Boxster S trans since 2004. All original except a light weight flywheel and Guards Transmission LSD. It is mated to a 3.6L '05 996 motor. We are pulling the box out and replacing the pressure plate and clutch. While it's out, I'm looking for ideas and info regarding any options for changing gear sets or Ring and Pinion while its out. The car is a dedicated race car. Not street Legal. Has anyone made these changes? Who did they buy from? Was it noticeable on track? Any input or ideas would be welcomed. |

No I don't need it to win a championship but I wanted to do some investigation before the box goes back in with everything the same. If there is a way to gain some real time I'd be willing to buy a different gear set (on line $3,500) or a new Ring & Pinion (on line $3,400).
Most likely will not change these two items but thought it wouldn't hurt to look around and ask. Thanks |
