Standing looking over your car from the left side you can put your hand up inside to the left and you'll feel where the air comes in from the snorkel (well when you have one and we don't :)). It then goes through the filter and toward the MAF. Oil the top.

Make sure you read the instructions before oiling. Every K&N filter I have ever bought came oiled. If you oil a ready to use filter, it will be over oiled.

A proven commodity to allow more airflow to your engine without negative result. Use them or not they're fine.

Hey Steve,
I can appreciate that there is a lot of misinformation on the net regarding re-usable air filters. I used K&N filters for many years in off road racing and appreciated the ability to clean it between races. I chose not to use one in my Porsche because of the sensitive MAF in our cars and this ISO 5011 study on intake air filtration. YMMV
K&N air filter or OEM, why OEM is better
