Fog Light Bulbs

Does anyone have any experience with changing out the factory fog light bulbs ( or running lights as they are sometimes called) on their 986 with an after-market brand that more closely matches the illumination of litronics ?

the front fog lights and running a/k/a city lights are 2 different bulbs in the 986. To match fogs to HIDs, try the either Silverstar or Silverstar Ultra bulbs - size H7.

For city lights, the small wedge bulb in the low beam housing, you'll likely need to either go LED or w/ a halogen bulb coated w/ blue paint (which will then be visible when off...).

Don't recall the size offhand, sorry

Burg Boxster,

Just so I am clear, when the litronics are on low beam and switch is pulled out ( green indicator light is on ) this actuates the fog lights. Correct ?

If you have litronics I would go with the LED running lights, match up real well.

I can post photos if you like.

Which color did you get? Would you post the photos, I'd like to see them.

Thanks

Get the white ones in high power... I did that to both my Boxster and Cayenne and it is a perfect match to the Litronics!

No pictures though.

Hi, the leds in the link seems to be city lights, or has the website changed since this post was made?

Is anyone using H7 LEDs in the fog lights? Did you need resistors to make them work?
