Windows acting strange?

Hey everyone!
I was wondering if anybody else out there has had the windows stop about three quarters of the way up with the top up. I recently had the car at the shop for a check engine light (which still isn't fixed!) and when raising the windows, they stopped. The mechanic started to put the top down and locked it back in place and the windows went up again. Is it normal for the windows to do this occasionally or is the relay going bad etc?

Thanks for any help...by the way, if anyone knows of a reputable mechanic in orange county CA, please let me know

Robert :)

If you were willing to travel to Carlsbad, the Hoen guys are very very good.

Make sure the latch for the convertible top is "locked". If it is left in the "open" position, the windows will stop 3/4 of the way up.

Try and open the latch again and close it
My 1998 Boxster started doing this a bit ago, its still under warranty so
I got them to fix it, I think it was just an adjustment problem
You will find sometimes if you open the top and close it again it might allow the windows to go all the way up.

I think it has something to do with the switch where the latch goes into.
If the wondows don't go up, try and push down the switch with your finger and see if the windows go all the way up.

If this seems to be the problem then the latch isn't resting their properly, temporarily i just got a little piece of paper and put in on top of the latch before locking it in place so it wold push the switch a little bit more up
