No reverse

Went to back the P-car out of the garage yesterday day and the car will not go into reverse. I have all 5 forward gears but it feels like something is “locking” it of reverse. It’s a 2000 boxster manual. Could it be the linkage? Is there some kind of lock out for reverse gear? What should I check 1st??

Sounds like the linkage to me. Easy to check. Let me know if you need more info on it.

I had the same issue on my 97 Boxster and it turned out to be the gear linkage, on mine it was a plastic joint which cost me £60 to have repaired.

Do you know where the plastic joint is they replaced? was at the transmission or under the armrest? I really don't want to take armrest out.
