has anyone had any experience with this?

Never heard of an eBay ss.

You have some options here. I have the B&M and love it...and actually purchased it off eBay..

You can also get a Schnell or a 997 shifter console that is plug & play. There are several threads here on the subject.

there's plenty for sale on ebay, at a 1/4 of the cost of the b&m

the one im looking at is from Deluboz parts,

I bought one on eBay a couple of years ago. A few months ago the ball joint on the end snapped off and left me coasting to a stop on the highway. Had the Boxster towed to work, got rental car and had a B&M shifter over-nighted as a replacement. My cheap eBay shifter cost me $350 when it broke. There is a definite difference in quality.
The one I bought was NOT from Deluboz.
