Porsche Piwis Cable BZ408 - What can it do?

1 Attachment(s)
Hello fellow 986'ers,

I am considering purchasing a Porsche Piwis Cable BZ408. This cable will let you use your laptop to diagnose your Porsche vehicle for trouble shooting. I'm curious if this cable is limited to only reading and resetting vehical information such as warning lights, etc. OR can it be used to re-program other components of the car such as tune the ECU, or (I know its illigal and I wont do it) re-program the odometer? perhaps it needs a different software?

Has anyone played around with cable and knows what its capable of?
Any insight would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks
