3.2L swap for 2.5l in 97 986???

Any advice on replacing my tired 97 2.5 for an "S" engine?

Are there any major drawbacks/hassles? I have a wiring harness from an 01 S and the ECM and e-gas parts.

Thanks.

DME Issues,
Instrument panel issues,
possible ABS issues.

you might need to upgrade all those above components to the same as on an '01.

The biggest issue with a 97 is DME. Recently I experienced these nightmares with a 3.2 based big bore 3.6 installed into a 97 Boxster.. The 97 si not the unit you want to do this with.

Thanks. I am looking at buying an 01 S and a back up engine for the track. I will sell the 97.
