have you ever replaced the ignition switch?
|
no have never replaced ignition switch ,whys that pal, and if it helps its a 2002 s with no pcm
|
why's that? because it seems soooo many electrical problems can be traced back to the ignition switch...
not saying that's the cause, but if your switch has issues ( turning the key, seems loose, etc. ) at least something to look at. and since it'll need replacing at some point, $10 + some upside down time might just fix it. |
tony is this easy to replace or is it a job for porsche

1. i've not had a need to do it yet.
2. i could be totally 100% wrong and you spend time/money replacing something that turns out to not be an issue. 3. from what i've seen/read ( search the forum there are a lot of posts on how to do it ) it's a fairly uncomplicated job, but requires lots of time on your back hanging half-way out of the car because you have to lay in the footwell, reach up and behind the dash and basically pull the old switch out and replace it with the new one. the switch is located behind where your key is inserted, to the side of the steering wheel. from what i hear, the older, fatter or less limber you are, the more difficult. before i undertook the job, i'd wait for a few more replies from people who are lots smarter than i. |
