Boxster Power Steering Line Leak?

Help. Shop told me I need to replace both power steering lines on '03 Boxster S (58K mi) because of small leak(s) that drained power steering fluid (causing grinding noise in steering column). $700 parts $300 labor. Does this seem like fair pricing? Is this normal for a car this old? Thanks

Labor sounds right it is a real pain to access the power steering pump. Pelicanparts.com sells a new pump for$350 so parts sounds right only if they are replacing 2 lines & pump otherwise sounds high. If the pump gets low on fluid it will overheat & be noisy. I would call a dealer & ask the price on the 2 P/S lines so you know the max. they should cost & get some Pentosion 11S to refill the pump to see if the pump needs replacing or just fluid & new lines.
