Interesting results from the track yesterday

Yesterday was the first time I had the Boxster on a track that I had previously driven my former 99.5 A4 on. I was really looking forward to seeing how the two cars compared.
My best with the A4 was 1:51.0
My best with the Boxster was 1:54.2
I'm sure I can get the Boxster down another few tenths, but that's probably about the limit of my capabilities. I was hoping the two would be about the same time. I guess the turbo (altitude), quattro, r-comps and +55 tq more than made up for the A4's balance and extra 200 pounds.
I think if the tires were the same on both cars the times would be very similar. The A4 had RA1s and the Boxster is on RE050As.

I would think if you had the same tires and equal seat time in both, the Boxster should run around that A4

Hey Pat,

Did you run around HPR, or one of the other tracks?

And yes, the Boxster is heavily affected by the altitude, in comparison to a car with a turbo.

Adding in the AWD, and everything else, I can easily see an A4 outpacing a Boxster up here at 5k+ feet.

We were at Pueblo yesterday.

R-comp tires will reveal your lost 3 seconds. A more open course should favor the Audi while a more technical course should favor the Box.

After thinking more about it, I bet I could knock a second or so off that time with some practice. For you local guys, what should I expect a stock 986 S to do around Pueblo?

Unfortunately, I've only ever driven my '98 on HPR, so I don't have an idea what it might do at Pueblo.
