flat battery , cant open front hood and alarm keeps going off!

Hi , I have a 99 boxster and its stood for a while and has a flat battery. The alarm/siron keeps going off randomly even when the car is just sitting on the drive. Also how do i open the front hood/boot when i have a dead battery?

Any help/ advice would be much appriciated

thanks dan :)

The alarm is common with low batteries; I thought 99's still had cable releases? In any case, there are connections at the inside fuse panel that will allow you to apply 12V to the system and get the bonnet open.............. Always happy to help a Geordie.......

'99s do not have a power hook up location in the fuse box.

You'll need to grab hold of the manual emergency release cable instead. It might be behind you tow hook plug in front bumper (if you're 2nd owner - orig may have relocated it there). Otherwise, peel back the right (if sitting in vehicle looking forward) front wheel well liner and feel around for it up behind the headlight module. It's about 1/8" think steel braided [think piano type] wire. Pull it and be prepared for the alarm to go off yet again. Have a 10mm offset box wrench handy to disconnect the (-) terminal to the battery.
