winter Tires: Pirelli 240 Snowsport
I have the chance to buy some 17 in wheels with Pirelli 240 Snowport winter tires on them (I need a good set of wheels for the anticipated move to Boston - the snow is crazy there). Has anyone used these and can tell me whether they are good. I've read some generiic reviews online but I'd like to hear from you guys. Any thoughts would be appreciate it.

I have not used them, but are generally considered one of the nicer snow tires available.

I've driven them and they are quite nice. Excellent on cold, dry roads and wet roads. Pretty OK in real snow, but not the best. If you live somewhere where you'll get a few, light storms over the winter but drive on plenty of cold roads, they're one of the best. If they'll be in heavy snow all winter, I'd go with something more serious.

I have Slottozero on mine and they seem to be ok. Some say Nokians are the best for snow but that's really designed for places like the North Pole where there's always snow.

Nokians are incredible in the nasty, but HORRIBLE on dry roads.

Thanks everyone for all your inputs!
